Texas A&M Energy Institute (EI)
There is no single solution that will serve as the silver bullet
to meet our nation's long-term energy demands in a way that ensures
security, consistency and predictability of the U.S. energy
supply. The Texas A&M Energy Institute
was established to engage in basic, applied and applications
research and technology development, demonstration and deployment
across the entire spectrum of energy-specific resource domains that
will be required to guarantee that our nation's energy future is
secure. EI will conduct research both within specific energy
resource domains and at the connected boundaries of multiple energy
resource domains to exploit the enormous benefits inherent in an
integrated approach to the production and utilization of our
country's vast energy resources.
Our mission is to bring together all persons
and parts of Texas A&M University under a single umbrella
organization. We will include all researchers in every college and
state agency working on energy-related research. We will foster
energy education and training. We will be the portal for those
outside of the university to find and engage those inside the
university to help solve energy-related problems. We also plan to
be the portal for our faculty, staff and students to find industry
collaborators who are interested in sponsoring research and hiring
our graduates.
Our vision is to be the best in the world
working with industry to define and solve energy problems. We can
listen to those in industry who truly know the right problems to be
working on. If we do this, not only do we improve the standard of
living for all, but we will produce graduates who will be highly
sought by industry, government and academia.
